4/19 Correction

Saturday, April 19th, 2014

Sentence near end makes no sense. Should read–When I booked the trip I did not realize the time on my book would be so tight but no big deal

April 19 Holy Saturday

Saturday, April 19th, 2014

I will make no more promises to write blog more often–it just ain’t gonna happen. I do most of work on book and correspondence in the evening. I also plan to write blog but my sleepy eyes say no-no. I do think about you and hope you do not stop checking. Today I have a little bonus time. House reasonably clean, pound cake, & vegetables cooked for family Easter dinner tonight. Now I am waiting for son, Jeff & wife, Carolyn to arrive. You probably didn’t care to read all that, but I lke to write it.
It has been an amazing journey from pancakes to Passion at St. Peter’s. Tomorrow we get to say “Alleluia, Christ the Lord is risen today.” I get to have wine again for the first time in 40 days. “Alleluia”
Visit with Rotary Club was rewarding. I had felt quite in awe of being there with Myra, but they were so welcoming and genuinely interested. We had a great time.
I am so into book that I think of little else. Photo cover has arrived & is all I could ask for. It was taken by a talented South Georgia historian and photographer and from his collection Vanishing Coastal Georgia. Now I hope that whets your desire to have it on your bookshelf. It might not be a good read for you but I guarantee it will be attractive on your shelf. However, if you are reading this blog, I can feel reasonable sure that you want to know more about Myra.
I am ready to have book in hands of publisher by first week in June. There comes the time when you must say “I have to let you go and fly on your on.” In the past publisher has given me fast turn around so hope to have revisions and corrections to work on by mid June. It would be lovely to be all finished have all ready for publication by end of July. I will shut down S. Twiss Literary Works for the last week in July and first week in August I am headed for one of bucket list items and visiting Ireland. When I booked the trip I did realizeon my book would be so tight—but no big deal. Best of all I am traveling with one of my dearest and really fun frineds. Jean Millett.
Now I wish you a Blessed Easter Day and may the bunny stop at your house with lots of chocolate.

April 6 Sunday

Monday, April 7th, 2014

On my last blog I vowed to post more often. That date was March 22, so I haven’t done well. I am back and love to see that six of you have checked. Shame on me. This has been a productive time. I have had several talks with my author representative & on schedule to send in manuscript @ June 1. That will be a happy day and a sigh of relief–at least until the corrections are returned me.
I have selected photo for cover and I can’t wait to see the real thing. I do think this cover will attract attention from the book shelf. I just started working with my friend Lynn on the final read through. She has an eagle eye & I love the way she can make my words look better. Thank you dear friend.
This has been a wonderful Sunday. Early church, visiting with friends and then home to cook a big birthday dinner for my daughter-in-law, Kathy. She is the best in every way and always makes me feel appreciated. I asked what she wanted for dinner & she selected my husband’s favorite dish which turned out delicious. I think I washed every dish, pot & pan in my kitchen. Cooking a company meal seems much harder now that it did a few years ago. Could it be that I am out of practice?
Grandson, Austin, was here also on way back to school after a swim meet at GA Tech. Wouldn’t his grandfather, Al, have enjoyed watching him swim in a meet against GA Tech. Of course, I know he would have preferred that his grandson be swimming FOR Ga Tech. Tues evening I will do a book event for the Rotary Club. This is quite a different audience from the ones I usually have in bookstores, libraries etc. Can you imagine Myra at the Commerce Club! I know she will say, “I never thought I would see such as this.” As she looks down on the lights of downtown Greenville. I do look forward to this new experience.
After a long and happy day. I am a little weary, so I will say good night & hope to be back on blog in less than 37 days. Thanks for checking in.
