After being glued to tv news until Marathon bomber was captured, I am too “wired” to sleep. What a horror this has been. I am also heartsick that no reasonable resolution has been made on gun control Seems like a good time to blog.
Just returned for nostalgic trip to GA. Visited with my dear Tootsie and had lunch with three high school friends at the Coleman House where the best lunch buffet ever is served every day. However, in Swainsboro GA that is not lunch but dinner. If you should ever be in the vicinity, make that a stop. it is a destination for many tour buses. The best part is sitting on the wrap around front porch after eating and visiting for as long as you like. I can look across the street and see the home of my grandparents which is now an H&R Block office! If you’re there be sure to stop in the gift shop and among the many treasures you will find a cabinet displaying two novels of a local girl. I was pleased to pick up a check for sales and leave a new supply. I love knowing my work is available there and at The Augusta Canal Museum. Now that is enough of being self-centered!
Great weekend ahead. My granddaughter, Allison, will give one of the sermons for Youth Sun at St. Peter’s and celebrate her 18th birthday. She also graduates from JL Mann High School in June. I can’t believe she has grown up, but she has always been a joy and delight for me.
Also give thanks for the birth of Garrett Thomas Roberts, son of my granddaughter, Jessica. He was able to go to his home in Charleston today.
Wow this blog is good therapy. Now I feel like going to bed with a little F. Scott Fitzgerald. I have been re-reading his short stories getting ready to attend Book Your Lunch with Threase Fowler who gave us a wonderful new novel “Zelda”.
I see the hit count is always growing, so I thank you for letting me share my thoughts.
